There IS progress – lets be pleased!

A ‘slight’ rise upwards – ‘slight’ ……but positive at least!

The latest Halifax House Price Index shows for the first time in three months that houses prices have eased upwards ,which is a good sign – and we’ve got to be pleased with that.

Even number

That’s how Paul Ainsworth Lord Founder of fastest growing and selling Darwen Estate Agency Ainsworth Lord Estates sees it, as check backs on house prices in Darwen, Blackburn, Bolton and across the North West region over the past year show that its a fact that monthly house prices fluctuate with an even number of falls and rises.

Holding steady

Adds Paul, “I do feel this latest rise indicates that home values will go on holding steady at worst through the Summer and will then ease up further again as we enter the traditionally more buoyant property sales period when September comes.”

Marked improvement

Experts indicate there has been a marked improvement over the past 12 months in the general state of the property market’s performance. A year ago, in May 2011, house prices were falling at an annual rate of 4.2 per cent, but, there’s been quite a contrast since – there has been more stability in terms of the annual rate price comparison, which is now at between zero per cent and -0.5 per cent for the last quarter!

Business to be done

“The ending of the first time buyer stamp duty holiday at the end of March could be said to have affected the ups and downs of house prices movements  of late.  But, it is also true and accurate to say that there’s more business to be done this year as opposed to last year and I am hopeful our business level will hold and ease upwards as the main Summer holiday period ends and the last gold medal is won, ” adds Paul..
